Nestled at the foot of the Catskill Mountains in Leeds, New York, Camptown has debuted as a novel entry in upstate New York’s booming hospitality landscape. Crafted by Ray Pirkle and Kim Bucci of Ramshackle Studio—the designers and owners of Hudson’s Rivertown Lodge—the hotel from Mountain Shore Properties overhauls a 1930s property, accentuating existing architectural details with new custom details that showcase local artisans and woodworkers.

Located roughly 2-3 hours north of NYC, nestled west of the Hudson River and east of the PA/NY state border, the Catskill Mountains have long been an “upstate” destination for the tri-state area. A classic 1930s motor lodge in New York’s scenic Catskills region will reopen as the area’s newest luxe stay on March 16. Camptown, formerly Carl’s Rip Van Winkle Motor Lodge sits just off Main street in Leeds, New York, boasting 22 acres of wooded tranquility, rustic-chic accommodations, and high-end amenities.

New grocery stores, hotels, bars and entertainment venues are slated to open in Louisville this year. And that’s just a handful of the projects we’ll be watching.

The $90 million project will initially include 500 historical racing machines, a fresh-air gaming area and over 200 onsite parking spaces.

Does Louisville really need more hotel rooms?
