In collaboration with Ash, Mountain Shore Properties helped transform the historic Old City Jail at 21 Magazine Street in downtown Charleston. Originally constructed in 1802, the ~20,000-square-foot landmark has been thoughtfully reimagined as a distinctive venue for events and corporate gatherings in one of the nation’s most popular travel destinations. The venue is operated by two standout local teams: Tara Guerard Soiree for social events and members of the former Belmond Charleston event team for corporate functions. Adding to the property’s prestige, Garden & Gun has established its headquarters on the second floor. Events continue to be hosted throughout the building, including the upper levels and outdoor spaces, ensuring the site remains active and well-utilized year-round.
